The Romantic Park of Villa Meli Lupi di Soragna Tarasconi is one of the most significant examples of 19th-century landscape gardens in Emilia-Romagna.
It was created between 1890 and 1899 at the behest of Marquis Luigi Lupo Meli Lupi di Soragna and his wife, Countess Luisa Melzi di Cusano, a cultured patron and refined collector, who entrusted Milanese architect Antonio Citterio with the project of uniting the historic estates of the Counts Toccoli and the Counts Magawly-Cerati di Calry into a single, harmonious natural setting.

Centuries-old trees arranged with artistry, picturesque views, and a perfect balance between nature and architecture.
Spanning over 18 hectares, including 11 hectares of romantic park and 7 hectares of riverbank area, the garden still preserves the original charm of its 19th-century landscape design: expansive English-style lawns, centuries-old trees arranged with artistry, picturesque vistas, and a perfect balance between nature and architecture.
Among the 416 trees recorded in 2021, there are monumental species of extraordinary botanical value:
A Linden tree with a circumference of 440 cm, among the largest in the province;
A centenarian Black Locust (Robinia), the oldest in the area;
An Atlas Cedar measuring 760 cm in circumference, among the largest in Italy.
The park also preserves rare specimens such as Ginkgo Biloba, Himalayan Cedars, White Hornbeams, and centuries-old Oaks, which continue to make this place a true green museum of memory and time.
